Workplace wellness that supports people and performance
Employee wellbeing is moving from perk to strategy
Employee wellness isn't a nice-to-have anymore. It's showing up in the numbers.
And whatever it's costing your business on paper, the real figure, in flat energy and quiet burnout, is almost certainly higher.
No matter the size of your business, investing in employee wellness pays you back in a stronger, more resilient workforce. People who feel supported, valued and able to do their best work.
9.4
Average sick days per UK employee a year.
A record high, up from 5.8 pre-pandemic
Absenteeism - The one you can see
UK sickness absence has climbed to 9.4 days per employee a year, a record high, up from 5.8 days pre-pandemic.
Sickness absence shows up on a spreadsheet, but the sick days, the cover, the deadlines that slip. It's disruptive, it's costly, and it's demoralising for the colleagues left picking up the slack.
Presenteeism - The one you can't see
People showing up too unwell, too burnt out or too distracted to actually work.
People who show up but aren't really there. They’re running on caffeine and low blood sugar, foggy after a bad night's sleep, distracted by symptoms they've never mentioned to anyone. It doesn't hit an absence record. It shows up as flat energy in meetings and quiet, steady burnout.
Both are more common, and more preventable, than most organisations assume.
Wellness isn't an expense line. It's a strategy for retention and productivity.
What’s actually going on
Six things behind almost every wellbeing conversation
The signs are rarely dramatic. It's burnout that creeps in gradually. It's "desk stress" — the quiet tension of sitting still under pressure all day. It's an always-on culture where nobody quite switches off, and the pressures people carry in from outside the office that don't stop at the front door.
01 Energy & fatigue
Blood-sugar crashes, poor sleep and low iron, dressed up as "just tired".
02 Gut health
Bloating and IBS-type symptoms, and a gut–brain link nobody's explained properly.
03 Stress and burnout
Cortisol that never quite gets the all-clear to switch off.
04 Metabolic health
Weight, blood pressure and blood sugar trending the wrong way, often silently.
05 Hormonal changes
Pegnancy, perimenopause, menopause andropause. Different stages, similar disruption to focus and mood.
06 Low mood & anxiety
Nutrition's role in mood is real and evidenced, and usually left out of the wellbeing budget.
How we can work together
01 / WORKSHOPS
Lively, practical and jargon-free
In-person or online. Built to leave people with two or three changes they'll actually make on Monday morning, not a slide deck they'll never reopen.
02 / TALKS
Science-backed and built to spark real change.
I’m a biochemist by training, so you get evidence in plain English, a few myths busted and plenty of time for questions. It works as a one-off or as a regular series.
03 / 1:1 DROP-IN CLINICS
Confidential, and unstructured
Private sessions for individual employees or senior leaders who need more discretion than a workshop allows, entirely tailored to the person in front of me.

No. The content is built for whoever's in the room — desk-based teams, shift workers, senior leadership — and covers energy, gut, stress, metabolic and hormonal health at every life stage, not one narrow issue.

Individual clinic sessions stay entirely private between me and the employee. Your organisation receives no clinical detail
