ABOUT NAVITA

BANT-Registered Nutritional Therapist & Oxford Biochemist | Navita Doshi

Science-grounded nutritional therapy and a genuine obsession with finding out why you feel the way you do.

MY STORY

Hi, I’m Navita

A BANT and CNHC-registered nutritional therapist, Oxford-trained biochemist, former research scientist, and mum of two grown girls. I specialise in women's health, specifically perimenopause and menopause, thyroid and metabolic health, and gut health.

My route into nutritional therapy is a little unconventional, and I think that's exactly what makes my approach different.

From research laboratory to clinical practice

I studied Applied Biology at Imperial College London before joining GlaxoSmithKline as a research scientist. Working inside the pharmaceutical model gave me a clear-eyed view of how it approaches health and the gaps it sometimes leaves.

That experience drove me back into academia. I completed a DPhil in Biochemistry at Oxford's Trinity College, spending years learning to look beyond surface symptoms, ask better questions, and get to the root cause of a problem. That scientific foundation shapes everything about how I work with clients today.

From the laboratory to the consulting room

Years later, I returned to study again. In 2025 I completed my BSc in Nutritional Therapy at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, the UK's leading nutritional therapy college, qualifying me to practise as a registered nutritional therapist.

I am registered with BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), the two professional bodies that set and uphold standards for nutritional therapy in the UK.

I am also a qualified Lifecode Gx Nutrigenomics Practitioner, which means I can interpret your DNA data in a clinical nutrition context; looking at how your genes influence your hormonal health, nutrient metabolism, and inflammatory response.

HOW I WORK

What I believe - and how it shapes the way I work

Root cause, not symptom management

A symptom is a signal, not the story. I want to understand what's driving what you're feeling - not just put a plaster over it.

Evidence-based, always

No trends. No fads. Just solid science, interpreted for your individual biochemistry.

Complementary to your NHS care

I work alongside your GP, consultant or specialist, not instead of them.

Real food, real life

My recommendations are built around your actual life - not a generic template that requires three hours in the kitchen.
